Welcome to Senior Citizens Tech Haven. These terms explain, in plain language, how you may use this website and what we can — and cannot — promise. By using the site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please simply stop using the site.

1. What This Website Is

Senior Citizens Tech Haven is a free educational platform that helps older adults in Kenya learn everyday technology: smartphones, M-Pesa, WhatsApp, email, eCitizen services, online safety and artificial intelligence. It also features Elsah, an AI assistant that answers technology questions in simple language, and articles on AgeTech and digital inclusion in Africa.

2. Educational Information Only — Not Professional Advice

Please note: Our guides are for learning only. They are not financial, legal, medical or technical support for your specific situation. For example, we explain how M-Pesa works generally, but for problems with your own money or account you must contact Safaricom, your bank or the relevant service provider directly.

3. Elsah AI Answers Can Make Mistakes

Elsah is an AI assistant. Like any technology, it can misunderstand a question or give an incomplete answer. Always double-check important steps — especially anything involving money, personal data or security settings — with the official provider or a trusted person before acting. Never share PINs, passwords or ID numbers with Elsah or any website; our systems are designed to block such details, but you should never offer them in the first place.

4. Acceptable Use

When using this website and Elsah, please do not:

Attempt to break, overload or gain unauthorised access to the site or its systems;
Use automated tools to send large numbers of requests (our AI endpoint is rate-limited to protect the service for everyone);
Use the platform for fraud, harassment, misinformation or any unlawful activity;
Copy our content for commercial purposes without written permission.

5. Content Ownership

All guides, articles, graphics, the SCTH logo and the Elsah knowledge base are the property of Senior Citizens Tech Haven unless stated otherwise. You are welcome to share links with family and friends, quote short passages with attribution, and use the guides for personal learning, community training or teaching seniors — for free. Commercial redistribution requires our permission.

6. Availability

We work hard to keep the site available, but we cannot guarantee it will always be online, error-free or suitable for every device. Maintenance, network problems or third-party outages (including our AI and hosting providers) may temporarily interrupt service.

7. Links to Other Websites

Our guides may link to official services such as eCitizen, Safaricom or Google support pages, and to our podcast and social media. We choose these links carefully, but we are not responsible for the content or safety of external websites. When you leave our site, please stay alert — the online safety habits we teach apply everywhere.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Kenyan law, Senior Citizens Tech Haven is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, this website, its guides or AI answers — including financial loss resulting from actions you take based on general educational content. If anything goes wrong with your money, contact your service provider immediately.
